Company History

Founded in 2010 as Four Seasons Flooring in Myrtle Beach, Floor Authority began through the collaboration of four business partners, each with over three decades of experience in the flooring industry. After the initial years of establishment, driven by his aspiration to scale the business further, RT Bayles acquired full ownership of the company. RT brought with him an engineering background and a fervor for innovation. Under his leadership, Floor Authority has risen as the leading flooring provider in Myrtle Beach.

In 2012, the company expanded by opening a second, significantly larger showroom in North Myrtle Beach, doubling in size. This strategic growth enabled Floor Authority to become a dominant force in the flooring market across the Grand Strand.

During the same period, Floor Authority has established itself as the go-to provider for new construction homes. The company’s success is rooted in its exceptional installation team and comprehensive project management, which have proven invaluable to its building partners.

RT’s vision for growth was unwavering, culminating in 2019 with the opening of one of the largest flooring showrooms along the Carolina Coast. This location was thoughtfully designed to enhance the shopping experience and serve as the company headquarters.

In August 2020, to better position the company for growth, Four Seasons Flooring rebranded as Floor Authority. This name change marked a milestone in the company’s journey, aligning with its plans for expansion and continued leadership.

In 2023, Jim Higgins was appointed as the VP of Operations and Tyler Quin as the VP of Revenue. Under their leadership, Floor Authority expanded into Charleston, SC, and Wilmington, NC. These new locations have enabled the company to tap into new markets and expanding their service areas to include the dynamic regions of North & South Carolina.
